Job summary

St Francis Xavier College in Canberra is seeking a part-time Classroom Support Assistant to help teachers ensure students with diverse learning needs access and participate in the curriculum. You will work closely with experienced teachers to deliver personalised learning programs, develop inclusive classroom practices, and support student wellbeing.

The role offers flexible hours up to 60 per fortnight, a salary of around $75,935 FTE plus super, and opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• Certificate III in School-based Education Support or be undertaking an Initial Teacher Education university program.
• ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance.
• Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers to ensure students with diverse learning needs can access and participate in the curriculum.
• Assist in delivering personalised learning programs and inclusive education practices.
• Support classroom management and student wellbeing in the learning environment.

About the Role

The Classroom Support Assistant plays a key role in supporting classroom teachers to ensure that all students with diverse learning needs can access and participate in the curriculum and College activities. As a Classroom Support Assistant, you’ll gain valuable hands‑on experience by working closely with experienced teachers to support students with diverse learning needs. You’ll play an active role in delivering personalised learning programs while developing practical skills in inclusive education, classroom management, and student support.
