Job summary

Hooker and Heijden - Insurance and Underwriting Recruitment, Melbourne's East, is seeking a Claims Specialist to manage a portfolio of motor claims within a Victorian brokerage. The role involves advocacy for clients with insurers and a focus on policy wordings, timelines and customer communication.

This is a hybrid, full-time position offering $85,000 plus super, with on-site in the office initially during probation, then a mix of three days in the office and two from home.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of motor claims from lodgement to finalisation.

• Handling disputes and complaints, and escalating where needed.

About the Organisation

Our client is an established Victorian insurance brokerage with a strong focus on client service and technical knowledge. Its in-house claims team of about 10 manages claims for the brokerage's clients.

About the Role

We're recruiting a Claims Specialist to manage a portfolio of motor claims.

This is a brokerage claims role, not an insurer claims role. There is no settlement authority. You advocate for the client with insurers to reach the right outcome.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of motor claims from lodgement to finalisation
• Advocating for clients with insurers, assessors and repairers
• Interpreting policy wordings and explaining claim decisions to clients
• Keeping clients and account managers informed at each stage
• Handling disputes and complaints, and escalating where needed
• Meeting the team's service standards and KPIs

About You

You'll have experience managing motor claims, from a brokerage, insurer, assessor or TPA. Candidates from an underwriting background will also be considered.

Ideally you'll bring:

• End to end motor claims experience
• Confidence interpreting policy wordings
• Clear written and verbal communication
• A car and driver's licence (the office is in a business park)
