Job summary

Hooker & Heijden in Melbourne's East is seeking a Claims Specialist to manage a portfolio of motor claims within our brokerage team.

This role focuses on advocating for clients with insurers, interpreting policy wordings, and delivering clear updates while upholding service standards.

The position is full-time in the office with a six-month probation, then hybrid work with three days in the office and two from home; parking is provided.

About the Organisation

Our client is an established Victorian insurance brokerage with a strong focus on client service and technical knowledge. Its in-house claims team of about 10 manages claims for the brokerage's clients.

About the Role

We're recruiting a Claims Specialist to manage a portfolio of motor claims.

This is a brokerage claims role, not an insurer claims role. There is no settlement authority. You advocate for the client with insurers to reach the right outcome.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of motor claims from lodgement to finalisation
• Advocating for clients with insurers, assessors and repairers
• Interpreting policy wordings and explaining claim decisions to clients
• Keeping clients and account managers informed at each stage
• Handling disputes and complaints, and escalating where needed
• Meeting the team's service standards and KPIs

About You

You'll have experience managing motor claims, from a brokerage, insurer, assessor or TPA. Candidates from an underwriting background will also be considered.

Ideally you'll bring:

• End to end motor claims experience
• Confidence interpreting policy wordings
• Clear written and verbal communication
• A car and driver's licence (the office is in a business park)
