Job summary

The Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Civic Events Officer to coordinate and deliver civic, commemorative and community events in the Toowoomba CBD. You will apply specialist event knowledge to plan, logistics, governance and compliance, and to manage budgets, suppliers, contractors, casual staff and volunteers.

This temporary full-time role supports efficient event operations and continuous improvement of procedures, working under general direction. Closing date: 5 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Plan and deliver civic and community events with governance and compliance in mind.
• Ability to coordinate budgets, resources, contractors and volunteers.
• Criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end operational coordination and delivery of civic, commemorative and community events.
• Plan, logistically coordinate, and manage event delivery, stakeholders and risks.
• Ensure governance, compliance and delivery standards are maintained.
• Support budgets, event equipment, contractors and casual staff, volunteers and partnerships.
• Contribute to development and improvement of event procedures and systems.
