Job summary

The Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Civic Events Officer to coordinate and deliver civic, commemorative and community events in the Toowoomba CBD. You will apply specialist event knowledge to plan, logistics, governance and compliance, and to manage budgets, suppliers, contractors, casual staff and volunteers.

This temporary full-time role supports efficient event operations and continuous improvement of procedures, working under general direction. Closing date: 5 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Plan and deliver civic and community events with governance and compliance in mind.
• Ability to coordinate budgets, resources, contractors and volunteers.
• Criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment required.

• $90,427.77 - $96,644.88gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
• Temporary Full time position until 24 October 2027.
• Based in the Toowoomba CBD - parking provided.

About the position

As the Civic Events Officer, you will provide end-to-end operational coordination and delivery of Council’s identified civic, commemorative and approved community events.

You will apply specialist event knowledge, sound judgement and initiative to plan and deliver civic and community events, coordinate logistics and stakeholders, manage operational risks and resources, and maintain consistent governance, compliance and delivery standards. In this position, you will provide operational support and coordination for civic event planning, logistics and protocol within approved programs.

In this role, you will support the efficient use of budgets, event equipment, contractors, casual staff, volunteers and partnerships, and contribute knowledge to the development and continuous improvement of event procedures, systems and work methods.

You will work under general direction.
