An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced product executive to join a growing Australian industrial products business with a national footprint and established position across a range of industrial and infrastructure markets. As the organisation enters its next phase of growth, it is investing in the leadership and capability required to strengthen its product portfolio, expand into new markets and improve commercial performance.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Product Officer will hold executive accountability for the organisation’s product and portfolio strategy. You will determine the categories and markets in which the business competes, identify opportunities for new products and market expansion, and drive greater discipline around portfolio performance. You will also lead key supplier and agency relationships, including commercial agreements, pricing, rebates and terms, with a clear focus on improving margin and long-term value from the portfolio.
You will strengthen the organisation’s approach to product management and translate portfolio strategy into clear commercial priorities, working closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain and the broader Executive Leadership Team. You will also contribute to acquisition activity by assessing product and supplier portfolios and supporting their integration into the broader business.
We are seeking a commercially focused product leader with experience across electrical distribution, industrial automation, engineered products, industrial technology or a similarly technical B2B environment. You will bring experience managing multi-category or multi-brand portfolios, together with direct exposure to supplier or agency negotiations, pricing, margin management and new product development.
Importantly, you will combine sufficient technical understanding to engage credibly with customers, suppliers and product specialists with the commercial capability to make considered portfolio matrix decisions. You will be comfortable leading established and technically knowledgeable teams, introducing greater structure and accountability while retaining the expertise and relationships already within the business.
