Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a Product & Development Manager for Inner Melbourne, Victoria to own the roadmap and build a premium range from concept to launch. You’ll work with the Executive Team to shape manufacturing partnerships and drive growth across Australia and New Zealand.

You’ll combine hands-on product development with strong commercial acumen, sourcing capabilities and detailed project management to deliver high-quality consumer durable goods.

Qualifications

• Around five to eight years’ relevant experience in product development, manufacturing, sourcing or product management.
• Direct experience with overseas manufacturers, ideally in Asia.
• Strong costing, negotiation and project management skills.
• The ability to assess samples, resolve technical issues and keep several projects moving.
• A collaborative approach and pride in following through.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the product roadmap across existing and new categories, identifying customer needs, market gaps and opportunities for product innovation.
• Develop customer-focused product solutions that simplify and accelerate the design process.
• Lead development through specifications, sourcing, sampling, testing, production and launch.
• Find and build relationships with overseas manufacturers, negotiating specifications and commercial terms.
• Own project budgets, timelines and business cases, including landed costs, pricing and margins.
• Coordinate quality, compliance and launch readiness with internal teams and qualified specialists.
• Use customer feedback and product performance to improve the range.
