Job summary

Warrigal Care is seeking a part-time cook at our Mt Warrigal home. You will manage all aspects of catering and food production, including supervising catering staff, to deliver well presented, nutritious meals for residents.

The role offers an 24-hour roster per week, with an initial 2-month contract, a competitive hourly rate of AUD 35.10 plus Super and NFP packaging, and access to a suite of employee benefits including gym subsidies and LifeWorks support.

Qualifications

• Bulk cooking experience in a commercial environment.
• Experience in preparing large-volume meals.
• Experience in ordering stock within budget guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with empathy for older people.

Job description

Developing your growth within the industry you will manage all aspects of the catering and food production including supervision of catering staff.

The requirements

• Part time – 2 month Contract of 24hrs per week – required roster:
  Week 1: 0600 - 1430 on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
  Week 2: 0600 - 1430 on Monday and Wednesday
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Extensive cooking experience in a commercial environment
• Demonstrated experience in the preparation of bulk cooking.
• Experience in ordering stock within budget guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with demonstrated interpersonal skills and empathy with older people.
• Demonstrated organisational skills and meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise the work of others.
• An understanding of andan abilityto deal with Work Health and Safety issues.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
• Commitment to workplace equity issues.
• Ensure the food service complies with the requirements of the NSW Food Authority
• First aid certificate
• Previous experience in the Aged Care Industry and/or related services
