Job summary

Warrigal Mt Warrigal aged care home is seeking a part-time cook to provide well presented, nutritious meals for residents, while managing all catering and food production duties and supervising catering staff.

You will hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or similar) and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, with extensive commercial cooking experience, budgets, stock control, and the ability to lead a small team with empathy for older people.

• Demonstrated experience in bulk cooking and stock ordering within budget guidelines.

The requirements

• Part time – 2 month Contract of 24hrs per week – requiredroster:
  • Week 1 – 0600-1430 on Monday, Wednesday, Saturdayand Sunday
  • Week 2 – 0600-1430 on Monday and Wednesday
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Extensive cooking experience in a commercialenvironment
• Demonstrated experience in the preparation of bulkcooking.
• Experience in ordering stock within budgetguidelines.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal withdemonstrated interpersonal skills and empathy with olderpeople.
• Demonstrated organisational skills and meetingdeadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise the work ofothers.
• An understanding of andan abilityto deal withWork Health and Safety issues.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinedteam.

• Ensure the food service complies with the requirements ofthe NSW Food Authority
• First aid certificate
• Previous experience in the Aged Care Industry and/orrelated services
