Job summary

MT Warrigal is seeking a passionate Cook to join our catering team at Mt Warrigal, NSW. You will prepare a variety of home-cooked meals, including desserts and soups, while contributing to budget control, stock ordering, and storage, and guiding kitchen staff.

This temporary part-time role requires Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety certification, with experience in fresh bulk cooking and NSW Food Authority compliance; experience in aged care is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing fresh bulk cooking.
• Ability to order stock within budget guidelines.
• Strong understanding of NSW Food Authority food service compliance.
• Experience in the aged care industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of home-cooked meals, including desserts, cakes, soups and sandwiches for residents.
• Deliver catering services across Mt Warrigal home, including budget control, ordering and storing of food items.
• Support direction of kitchen staff and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Maintain quality, portion control and presentation of meals.

Join our team as a Cook at MT Warrigal. In this role, you will have a passion for delivering variety of home cooked meals, including desserts, cakes, soups and sandwiches to our diverse community. You will deliver within all aspects of the catering service at our home including budget control, ordering and storing of food items and supporting the direction of kitchen staff.

The requirements

• Temporary part-time 6month contract at Mt Warrigal acrossvarious days.
• You’ll hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery orrelevant skills
• Food Safety Certificate.
• You’ll have demonstrated experience in the preparation offresh bulk cooking
• You’ll have demonstrated ability to order stock withinbudget guidelines
• You’ll have strong understanding of food service complianceand the requirements within the NSW Food Authority
• You’ll have demonstrated experience in the Aged CareIndustry
