Job summary

RSL LifeCare Limited is hiring a Chef Manager to lead all kitchen operations in a Residential Care site. You will supervise staff, manage menus, and ensure high-quality dining experiences for residents and visitors.

Strong focus on safety, dietary accommodation and cost control is essential. The role requires Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery, Food Safety Certification and Australian Working Rights, with duties spanning planning, training and maintaining HACCP standards in a supportive,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated compassion and empathy in care settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with residents, families and colleagues.
• Proven leadership and ability to supervise a kitchen team in a busy environment.
• Experience in menu planning and accommodating modified diets.

Responsibilities

• Lead all food operations for the Residential Care site, including safety, preparation, service, ordering, cost and quality control.
• Supervise and develop the kitchen team, maintain records and provide training.
• Create a welcoming dining experience for residents and visitors, and respond to preferences and dietary needs.
• Plan, prepare and supervise meals that meet dietary requirements (low salt, diabetic, coeliac, soft textures, pureed, high/low protein).
• Maintain the Food Safety Plan (HACCP) and ensure regulatory compliance and high quality standards.
• Foster strong team relationships to deliver a positive dining experience for residents.
