Evergreen Life Care in West Gosford is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our Hotel Services team in a permanent full-time capacity. The role supports the head chef and steps in as a cook when required, delivering safe, high-quality dining experiences for residents in line with our HEART values.

You will work with a collaborative team, ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and efficient service, including morning and afternoon tea setups and beverage service.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Commitment to Food Safety and WHS principles.
• Flexible, can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in catering, preferably in aged care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the chef with food preparation and meal services
• Deliver food to residents, ensuring a high quality dining experience
• Maintain a safe, quiet and secure environment, including cleaning and maintenance tasks and preparation as required.
• Ensure kitchens and dining facilities are kept clean, safe and well presented
• Work collaboratively with other team members to support the overall operations of the facility.
• Assisting with setup of morning and afternoon tea
• Prepare beverage trolleys and service of beverages to residents

We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our Hotel Services team in a permanent full‑time capacity. We are seeking an individual who is able to both assist the head chef and step up as a cook when required.

In this hands‑on role, you will deliver safe, high‑quality, dining experience that supports residents’ independence, dignity and wellbeing, in line with Evergreen’s mission and HEART values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the chef with food preparation and meal services

You are a reliable and motivated individual who is passionate about food services and providing a high quality dining experience. You bring a person‑centred approach and take pride in delivering high‑quality in a team‑based environment.

You will possess:

• A Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Knowledge of Food Safety Principles
• Knowledge of Work Health and Safety Principles
• A flexible and adaptable can‑do attitude
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Experience working in catering, and preferably in an Aged Care setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents and team members.
• A commitment to resident privacy, confidentiality and safe work practices.
• A current National Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Willingness to participate in a pre-employment medical assessment.
