Job summary

Catering Industries Pty Ltd in Erina, NSW is seeking a Part-Time Chef to join our welcoming team at a respected aged care facility. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals that support resident wellbeing and work closely with our Chef Manager in a supportive kitchen environment.

This role requires 3+ years in a similar setting, experience with large volume cooking, and a commitment to food safety and QA. You’ll be reliable, team‑oriented and capable of multi‑tasking in a busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Aged care experience highly regarded.
• Cert III in commercial cookery desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality meals in line with aged care guidelines and QA procedures.
• Assist with menu design, changes and implementation.
• Assist with deliveries and kitchen clean up duties.
• Be a good all-rounder in kitchen (scones, cakes, desserts, soups).
• Prepare special diets (puree, gluten free, texture modified).
• Stay organized and multi-task in a busy kitchen.
• Work harmoniously with the team.

Roster

• This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with shifts scheduled from Thursday to Monday:
  • Thursday & Friday: 6:00am to 2:30pm
  • Saturday to Monday: 9:30am to 6:00pm

Requirements

• A current Police Check, or willingness to obtain one

Skills and experience

• 3+ years'experience in a similar role -aged care experience highly regarded.
• Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
• Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings
• Reliable and punctual
• Collaborativeand team player
• Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
• Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock.
• Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
• High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
• Must have reliable transport.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
• Assist with putting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties.
• Good all-rounder in kitchen i.e. scones, cakes, desserts, soups.
• Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc.
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
