Job summary

The Grand Hotel in Frankston is seeking an experienced casual Commis Chef to join the kitchen team. You’ll work from prep to pass in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, supporting senior chefs and helping the team deliver great hospitality.

Requirements include a Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent), knowledge of allergens and Do Food Safely certification, plus a willingness to work nights, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of allergens and Do Food Safely certificate is preferred.
• Experience in a busy pub, bistro or high-volume kitchen.
• Solid understanding of basic cooking methods.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cooking and prepping menu items to high-quality standards.
• Support senior chefs with prep, plating and service when busy.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene at all times.
• Run your section during service and keep the pass moving.
• Keep station clean, organised and ready for the next wave of tickets.
