Job summary

Pegasus Leisure Group’s Steeples in Mornington is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef for a full-time position. You will prepare and cook menu items, support seniors during busy periods, and ensure food safety and cleanliness across the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
• Food Allergens and Do Food Safely Certificate required
• Experience in a busy pub, bistro or high-volume kitchen preferred
• Solid understanding of basic cooking methods and recipe execution
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Cook and prep menu items to high-quality standards
• Support senior chefs with prep, plating and service when busy
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene practices at all times
• Run your section during service and keep the pass moving
• Keep your station clean, organised and ready for the next wave of orders
