Job summary

MPAU Sales is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead an established North Queensland territory. You will blend account management with proactive business development, focusing on maintaining key relationships while driving sustainable growth across mining, power, and industrial sectors.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will manage a large territory, visit customers regularly, prepare quotations, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver service solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience selling electromechanical equipment (motors, pumps, gearboxes, transformers).
• Proven ability to grow and manage large customer portfolios.
• Strong relationship management and account growth capabilities.
• Exposure to mining, power generation, utilities, manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Technical understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of established industrial accounts.
• Conduct regular customer visits across North Queensland.
• Identify opportunities for motors, transformers, gearboxes and related service solutions.
• Prepare quotations and commercial proposals.
• Work closely with internal sales, workshop managers and operational teams.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity planning.
• Develop new customer relationships across key industrial sectors.
• Participate in weekly sales meetings, pipeline reviews and territory planning.

This opportunity exists for an experienced Business Development Manager to manage an established North Queensland territory for a leading electromechanical services provider. The role combines account management and business development, with a focus on maintaining key relationships while driving sustainable growth.

Our client is a leading provider of electromechanical repair, overhaul and maintenance services. They support customers across mining, power generation, sugar and industrial sectors and have built a strong reputation for technical expertise and service excellence.

Description

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for autonomously managing a large North Queensland territory, developing trusted relationships with existing customers and identifying new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and growing a portfolio of established industrial accounts.
• Conducting regular customer visits across North Queensland.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Previous sales experience within electromechanical equipment, rotating equipment, transformers, motors, pumps, gearboxes or a related industrial sector.
• Strong relationship management and account growth capabilities.
• Exposure to mining, power generation, utilities, manufacturing or heavy industrial customers.
• A technical understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Proven ability to manage customer portfolios while generating new business opportunities.
• Strong organisational, communication and territory management skills.
• Stable employment history demonstrating long-term commitment and career progression.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with a genuine desire to build a long-term career.

Job Offer

• Base salary up to $130,000-$140,000 + Super.
• OTE of $20,000-$25,000.
• Vehicle allowance of $18,000.
