Job summary

AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort in New South Wales is seeking a passionate and reliable Commis Chef - Breakfast to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. You will support breakfast service by preparing and delivering high-quality dishes and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include opening preparation, station setup, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, assisting with menu items, and supporting training of junior staff. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotels or high-volume catering.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
• Knowledge of HACCP and kitchen hygiene.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Flexible weekends.
• Own transport.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high-quality breakfast.
• Open preparation and station setup.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
• Assist in menu development and recipes.
• Maintain communication between Front and Back of House.
• Support training and supervision of junior kitchen staff.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized and WHS compliant.
