Job summary

ALH Hotels is seeking a Category Manager - Trade to lead the 6–18 month Beverages category strategy across our on-premise venues in Sydney or Melbourne. You will use data and insights to drive growth, profitability, promotions and supplier partnerships with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor and energise direct reports in a hybrid work environment, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a fast-paced hospitality business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of category management, promotions, and/or product marketing in a fast-paced commercial environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong commercial acumen with understanding of on-premise market fundamentals and P&L management.
• Experience in data analysis, market research, and translating data into strategies.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams with a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 6–18 month category strategy for the Beverages category across on-premise venues.
• Own and drive category sales, margins, and profitability against budget with regular financial tracking.
• Drive promotions, post-promotional reviews, and pricing negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Cultivate supplier partnerships and lead the supply captain program for exclusive activations.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire direct reports and foster a guest-centric team culture.
