Job summary

Melbourne Fringe Festival is seeking casual Duty Managers to deliver events at Fringe Common Rooms, our year-round venue in Trades Hall. You’ll be the on-site lead for public-facing programs, mainly Thursday–Saturday nights, including private functions, DJ nights and independent arts events.

Reporting to the Venue Operations Manager, you’ll provide excellent customer service to hirers and patrons, supervise the casual bar team, ensure liquor licensing compliance and maintain safety during events

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience in hospitality, preferably in a bar setting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of bar operations, including drink preparation and service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Current RSA certification.

Summary:

The casual Duty Managers are responsible for delivering events at Fringe Common Rooms, Melbourne Fringe’s year-round venue at Trades Hall.

You will be the primary on-site person responsible for delivering the venue’s public-facing program of events, predominantly on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, including private functions, DJ nights, arty parties, and independent arts events.

Reporting to the Venue Operations Manager, you will provide exceptional customer service to all hirers and patrons, supervise the casual bar team, enforce liquor licensing requirements, and ensure safety during events.

During the Melbourne Fringe Festival, you will work across the Festival Hub bars in the Loading Dock and Club Fringe.

This is an exciting delivery role for a hospitality professional with excellent customer service skills looking to work in a venue with a vibrant program of events
