Job summary

BYD Australia is seeking a full-time Vehicle Import & Export Specialist based at Macquarie Park, Sydney, to coordinate finished vehicle import and export operations in Australia and New Zealand. The role focuses on import operations, with occasional exports, ATA temporary import/export, and vehicle transfers between AU and NZ.

You will work with external customs brokers and internal teams to ensure accurate documentation, smooth clearance, and efficient logistics.

Qualifications

• Professional working proficiency in English; Chinese language skills are an advantage.
• Understanding of Australian import regulations, biosecurity rules and port operations.
• Experience in automotive logistics or import/export operations; 2+ years preferred.
• Familiar with ICS, GTS, TMS or CargoWise; direct ICS experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership and communication in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily import operations for finished vehicles in Australia and New Zealand, including customs clearance and cross-border movements.
• Prepare and review shipping documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor clearance, biosecurity, port availability, warehousing and inland transport.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, port operators and logistics providers.
• Support data management and system administration for import operations (e.g., GTS).
• Investigate and resolve clearance or documentation issues promptly.
