Job summary

Powerhouse Recruitment in Ferntree Gully, VIC, seeks an Assistant Sales Manager to lead a high-performing automotive sales team. You will coach, mentor and develop consultants, while driving targets and delivering excellent customer experiences on the showroom floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to achieve individual and team sales targets.

• Work with the team to overcome objections and secure sales.
• Review daily sales activity and identify growth opportunities.
• Ensure all CRM leads and inquiries are followed up promptly.
• Become the key decision-maker in saving the deal before customers leave.
• Support the dealership’s growth strategy and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, you'll play a hands-on leadership role, combining your own sales performance with coaching and mentoring the sales team to maximise every opportunity.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading by example to achieve individual and team sales targets
• Coaching and mentoring sales consultants to improve performance and close more deals
• Working alongside the team to overcome objections and secure sales
• Reviewing daily sales activity and identifying opportunities for growth
• Ensuring all CRM leads and customer enquiries are followed up promptly and professionally
• Becoming the key decision-maker in "saving the deal" before customers leave the dealership
• Supporting the dealership's growth strategy and delivering exceptional customer experiences

About You

You are a motivated sales leader who enjoys being on the showroom floor, working closely with your team and leading from the front.

You’ll bring:

• Proven ability to drive sales performance and motivate others
• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Strong coaching, leadership and mentoring abilities
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• High levels of professionalism and personal presentation
• A positive, proactive "can-do" attitude
• Strong computer and CRM skills
• A current driver's licence
• Previous experience in automotive sales leadership (highly regarded, but not essential)
