Job summary

Certis Security Australia is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer for a 12‑month maternity leave contract in Sydney. You will manage a high‑volume AP portfolio, process invoices, reconcile statements, and support month‑end activities.

The role reports to the AP Team Leader and works with Finance, Procurement, and budget holders to ensure timely, accurate payments. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in AP, strong accuracy, and experience with financial systems and high‑volume processing.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable or finance operations.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience working with financial systems and high‑volume transactions.
• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
• Bonus: Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience.
• Bonus: experience in regulated or complex environments.
• Bonus: finance/accounting qualification.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently in line with policy.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and approvals where required.
• Ensure invoices are correctly coded and approved within delegated authority.
• Process payments in line with agreed supplier terms and schedules.
• Respond to supplier enquiries professionally and within service standards.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve coding or approval delays.
• Escalate high‑risk matters to the Accounts Payable Team Leader.
• Follow AP controls, maintain documentation, and support audits and reviews.
• Use AP and finance systems to maintain records and support reporting.
