Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Field Service Engineer to join our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role covers on-site installation, maintenance and repair of telecom equipment to ensure reliable services for customers in the region.

You will configure routers and switches, diagnose network issues, and provide hands-on support and training. A National Diploma or Bachelors in a related field is required, with 3–5 years of experience and a valid driver’s license.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 3–5 years of field service/tech support experience in telecommunications.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, VoIP, and wireless technologies.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools for network troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to travel within the Queenstown area and hold a valid driver’s license.

Mansioni

• Install, configure, and commission telecom hardware and software including routers, switches, and network devices.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic tests on network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by customers or detected via monitoring.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment according to specs and procedures.
• Respond promptly to service calls and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and equipment status.
• Adhere to safety protocols while in the field.
