Job summary

Journi in Vienna is seeking a Junior Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee ongoing accounting operations, VAT filings, and the annual financial report. You will work closely with our Head of Finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role covers monthly closes, accounts payable processing, and collaboration with external accountants across Austria, EU and beyond. Ideal candidates are analytical, detail-driven, fluent in English, and ready to relocate to Vienna.

Qualifications

• Initial accounting experience from work or studies.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and accurate.
• Fluent English; German at B1/B2 or higher.
• EU/Austria work eligibility and relocation to Vienna (or already based).

Responsibilities

• Run monthly accounting process and coordinate with external accountant.
• Handle VAT filings for Austria, EU, Germany, UK, Norway, US, UK and Australia.
• Manage accounts payable flow.
• Assist in annual financial report and other tax reports.

We’re on the lookout for a driven Junior Accounting & Finance Manager to take care of the ongoing accounting operations such as accounts payable process, monthly accounting reports, VAT declarations and annual financial report creation. This position is reporting directly to our Head of Finance.

What You’ll Do

• Execute the monthly accounting process (collecting all necessary information for the external accountant as well as plausibility checks and handling of open questions/items)
• Execute the monthly and quarterly VAT filings (together with the external tax advisors) for Austria, EU, Germany, UK, Norway, US, UK and Australia
• Handle the whole accounts payable flow
• Assist with the creation of the annual financial report as well as other accounting and tax reportings

Your bag of tricks

• You have made first experiences in the domain of accounting (either through a first work experience or through your studies)
• You are a very analytical person that loves working accurately and cares for the details
• You seek a career in accounting or in general financial operations
• You’re fluent in English and speak German at B1/B2 level or higher
• You have a hands‑on mentality, and you're always curious and eager to learn and take on new challenges
• You are legally permitted to work in the EU/Austria
• You are able to relocate to / based in Vienna - the world’s most liveable city!
