Job summary

MAVI, a fast-growing US-based finance placement firm, seeks a Staff Accountant to own month-end close and core reporting for a high-growth US company. This fully remote role is performed from Argentina, with required daily overlap with US Eastern Time.

You will own journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules under US GAAP, with review by a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager. Strong English and GAAP knowledge are essential for collaboration with US teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Solid accrual accounting fundamentals and financial statement support.
• US GAAP experience or strong Argentine GAAP/IFRS exposure with US clients.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Xero.
• Strong written and spoken English for daily collaboration with US teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close tasks, including accruals, prepaids, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow support under US GAAP; explain material movements.
• Record recurring and non-recurring journal entries with clear supporting documentation.
• Improve close checklists, SOPs, and recurring workflows, including AI/automation enhancements.
• Document each close task so a reviewer can follow it end-to-end.
