Job summary

dLocal is seeking a Staff Engineer in AI R&D to set the technical direction for agentic and LLM-based systems and raise the engineering bar across teams. You will lead critical initiatives, shape architecture and guide production-ready solutions in collaboration with business and engineering peers.

You will contribute across AI-native delivery, automation, platform foundations and governance while mentoring engineers and sharing knowledge through playbooks and templates.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience at senior or Staff level.
• 2+ years building/operating LLM-based systems in production.
• Designs agentic or multi-step AI systems with tools, orchestration and state management.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, patterns and architectures.
• Cloud infra experience, preferably AWS, with secure, cost-conscious delivery.
• Observability, testing and evaluation of complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for AI initiatives from design to production.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, priorities and outcomes.
• Translate business goals into technical plans and risks.
• Ensure production success with measurable outcomes and clear explanations.
