Job summary
dLocal LLP is seeking a Staff Engineer in AI R&D to set the technical direction for agentic and LLM-based systems. You will lead architectural decisions, guide multi-team efforts, and ensure production readiness while aligning with business priorities.
You will mentor engineers, develop reference architectures, and drive end-to-end excellence from design to deployment. Remote collaboration across hubs is expected within a flexible, fast-moving fintech environment.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience at senior or Staff level.
- 2+ years building/operating LLM-based systems in production.
- Experience designing agentic AI systems with tool use and orchestration.
- Strong distributed systems and cloud security considerations.
- Experience with observability, testing and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead of AI initiatives from problem definition to production delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align scope, priorities and outcomes.
- Translate business goals into technical plans, milestones and trade-offs.
