AgileEngine is seeking a Python Developer to build and scale an event-driven integration platform, including APIs, resilience mechanisms, and AI-facing integrations.

You will design contract-first interfaces with OpenAPI and AsyncAPI, manage a durable event log, and work across distributed systems with Kafka, CI/CD, Linux, and containers. The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and delivering robust ITSM integrations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production Python experience with typed, tested services and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous architectures.
• REST API design with OpenAPI; familiarity with AsyncAPI contracts.
• Apache Kafka or equivalent streaming platform.
• GenAI-assisted development with AI coding agents.
• Testing discipline (pytest, contract testing), CI/CD pipelines, Linux, Git and containers.
• Methodical debugging across distributed systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for a global audience and clear trade-off explanations.
• Desire to continuously learn and evaluate new tools.

Responsabilités

• Build and evolve a Python service handling an event taxonomy and a durable replayable log.
• Design and maintain contract-first interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create the correlation layer to turn signals into ITSM actions, ensuring deduping and exactly-once processing.
• Develop resilience mechanisms to keep services usable when upstream platforms fail.
• Support multiple access patterns (fire-and-forget, submit-and-poll, webhook, stream) over a single async core.
• Develop event type registry and self-serve onboarding for teams.
• Build GenAI-facing surfaces for agent skills and tool-calling interfaces.
• Migrate legacy integrations with deprecation paths, minimizing disruption.
• Own end-to-end quality: reviews, testing, observability, and production support.
• Participate in ceremonies and customer-facing meetings; document major decisions.
