Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. in Mar del Plata, Argentina, is seeking a Python Developer to build and scale an event-driven integration platform, including APIs, resilience mechanisms, and AI-facing integrations.

You will work on a Python service handling an observation/intent/outcome taxonomy with a durable event log, design OpenAPI/AsyncAPI interfaces, and implement robust resilience and deployment patterns. Strong Python, Kafka, and GenAI experience are required, along with distributed-systems debugging

Qualifications

• 4+ years production experience with Python, including typed, tested services and APIs.
• Strong grasp of event-driven and asynchronous architecture and messaging with durable logs.
• REST API design experience and practical OpenAPI; awareness of AsyncAPI contracts.
• Kafka or equivalent streaming platform experience.
• GenAI-assisted development and comfort with AI tools.
• Testing discipline (pytest, contract testing); CI/CD pipelines; Linux, Git and containers.
• Ability to explain trade-offs and defend architectural decisions to a global audience.
• Eagerness to learn and evaluate new tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the Python service handling observation/intent/outcome taxonomy and a durable replayable event log.
• Design contract-first interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create the correlation/decision layer to translate signals into ITSM actions.
• Implement resilience mechanisms for degraded or unavailable upstream platforms.
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, submit-and-poll, webhooks, streams, bulk ingest.
• Develop event type registry and self-service onboarding for consuming teams.
• Build GenAI-facing surfaces for agent skills and tool-calling.
• Modernise legacy integrations via deprecation paths with minimal disruption.
• Own end-to-end quality: reviews, tests, observability, production support.
• Participate in squad ceremonies and customer meetings; capture requirements.
• Autonomously own components or projects and document key decisions.
