Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to advise engineering teams on cloud costs and optimization. The role requires coverage of APAC business hours with overlap into PST and afternoon CST, balancing LATAM/US zones.

You will guide R&D on cloud spend, lead proactive cost reviews, and drive actionable optimization decisions. Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in FinOps, strong forecasting, and experience with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of FinOps experience emphasized.
• Strong cloud cost management and optimization expertise.
• Ability to investigate spend anomalies and produce root-cause analyses.
• Advising and consulting directly with R&D/engineering teams.
• Experience with cloud cost forecasting and aligning forecasts.
• Familiarity with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers and monitoring LLM spend.
• Cost modeling and tracking of investments/projects.
• Proficiency with Jira for investigations and Slack for real-time/support.
• Maintaining technical documentation/wiki spaces and recurring reporting (Showback).
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholders.
• Availability to cover APAC business hours with PST and CST overlap.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for R&D teams seeking cloud cost guidance via Slack and other channels.
• Engage APAC-based teams to review monthly cloud spending and surface cost opportunities; document notes and recommendations.
• Monitor cloud and AI/LLM spend for anomalies and produce root-cause analyses with optimization recommendations.
• Contribute to monthly forecasting by aligning central forecasts with team plans and documenting spend intent.
• Support showback reporting with cost-driver insights and team cost awareness.
• Audit and update the wiki with FinOps guidance and education.
• Respond to help requests via Slack, email, and other channels.
