Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to guide engineering teams on cloud costs and optimization, with a schedule that covers APAC business hours and overlaps PST/afternoon CST.

You will be the primary FinOps contact, triaging questions in Slack, conducting monthly spend reviews with APAC colleagues, producing root-cause analyses, and delivering actionable cost-reduction recommendations in Jira and Showback reports.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of FinOps experience.
• Strong cloud cost management and optimization expertise.
• Proven ability to investigate spend anomalies and produce written root-cause analyses.
• Experience advising R&D/engineering teams.
• Cloud cost forecasting experience, aligning central forecasts with team plans.
• Familiarity with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers and monitoring LLM spend.
• Cost modeling and project tracking.
• Proficiency with Jira for documenting investigations and Slack for real-time support.
• Experience maintaining technical docs/wiki and recurring reporting (Showback).
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for R&D teams seeking cloud cost guidance via Slack and other channels.
• Conduct proactive engagement with APAC-based teams to review monthly cloud spending and surface cost opportunities.
• Monitor cloud/AI spend for anomalies and deliver root-cause analyses and optimization recommendations in Jira.
• Participate in monthly forecasting, aligning central forecasts with team projections and documenting plans.
• Contribute to showback reporting and cost-driver analyses for leadership meetings.
• Support cost awareness and update wiki documentation.
• Model team cost projections and respond to inquiries via Slack and email.
