Overseas is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to guide engineering teams on cloud costs and optimization. The role requires APAC hours overlap, with PST and CST alignment, and collaboration with R&D to forecast, triage spend, and provide actionable cost insights.

You will monitor AI/LLM spend, investigate anomalies, document root causes, and co-create monthly forecasts. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of FinOps experience.
• Strong cloud cost management and optimization skills.
• Investigate spend anomalies and write root-cause analyses.
• Partner with R&D/engineering teams for cost guidance.
• Forecast cloud spending and align forecasts with teams.
• Familiar with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers and monitoring spend.
• Cost modeling and tracking of investments/projects.
• Proficient with Jira tickets and Slack collaboration.
• Maintain documentation/wiki spaces and recurring reporting (Showback).
• Strong written and verbal stakeholder communication.
• Ability to cover APAC hours with PST/CST overlap.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main cloud cost guidance contact for R&D teams via Slack and asynchronous channels.
• Engage with APAC-based colleagues to review monthly cloud spend and surface opportunities.
• Monitor cloud/LLM spend for anomalies; conduct investigations and write root-cause analyses.
• Influence monthly forecasting with team cohorts and document plans for spend.
• Contribute cost driver insights to showback reports and leadership meetings.
• Update wiki sections for Cost Awareness and Cost Education.
• Model team cost projections and respond to inquiries via multiple channels.
