Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid role that blends platform engineering and data infrastructure. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of systems powering data pipelines and analytics.

The role requires deep AWS experience, IaC, CI/CD proficiency, and strong collaboration with data scientists and security teams. You will lead incident response and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Strong experience with AWS core services and data services (Glue, Athena, S3).
• Proficient in CI/CD and IaC tools (GitHub Actions, Terraform, CDK).
• Experience designing observability systems (metrics, logs, tracing) and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ETL jobs and data infrastructure.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC.
• Own the observability stack for data pipelines with metrics, logs, and alerts.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates.
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and perform root-cause analysis.
