Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and data infrastructure—you will own the reliability, automation, and delivery of the systems that power Proofpoint’s data pipelines and analytics capabilities.

You will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, build AWS-based infrastructure with Terraform/AWS CDK, and own the observability stack to ensure SLA compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/platform/SRE with ≥2 years data engineering.
• Strong AWS core services (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS).
• Proficient in IaC tools Terraform or AWS CDK.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and promotion of data infrastructure.
• Build and manage AWS-based cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / AWS CDK).
• Own observability stack with metrics, logs, and alerts to ensure SLA compliance.
• Develop DataOps tooling and templates for production-grade pipelines.
• Lead incident response and mentoring junior engineers.
• Collaborate with data scientists and security teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
