Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team in a hybrid role. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities, building cloud infrastructure on AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to empower data teams.

You’ll design and operate data pipelines with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, while driving security best practices and observability.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE, with at least 2 years of data engineering work.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, and CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue ETL jobs, Crawlers, Data Catalog, Athena workgroup management.
• Proficiency with IaC tools Terraform and/or AWS CDK for managing production cloud environments.
• Strong CI/CD experience designing pipelines in GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) for data and platform services.
• Strong communication skills to translate operational concerns into clear engineering trade-offs.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infrastructure.
• Build and manage AWS-based cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CDK), covering S3, IAM, Glue, Athena, and VPCs.
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure SLA compliance and fast incident response.
• Develop DataOps platform self-service tooling and reusable templates for data pipelines.
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and perform post-mortems.
