Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivering data pipelines and analytics capabilities across AWS-based infrastructure.

You'll own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability for data workflows, collaborating with data engineers, scientists, and security teams to ship scalable, secure data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional DevOps or SRE experience.
• Hands-on data engineering experience (2+ years).
• Strong knowledge of AWS core services and data services.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infra.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS with IaC.
• Own observability for data pipelines with metrics, logs, alerts.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable templates.
• Manage container and compute infra for data services.
• Operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA, Airflow, Step Functions).
• Build and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs for data ingestion.
• Drive security practices across the data platform.
• Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and security teams.
• Lead incident response for data platform outages.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture records.
