Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software or data engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on cloud data platforms.
• Deep expertise with AWS data services: S3, Glue, Athena.
• Strong Python programming skills; production‑grade PySpark or Spark.
• Solid SQL fundamentals for complex analytical queries.
• Excellent communication skills to present trade‑offs to engineers and stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design discussions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue to ingest and transform large datasets.
• Build and maintain cloud data lake architecture on S3 with partitioning and data catalogs.
• Enforce data quality standards, validation, and SLA-driven alerting.
• Drive engineering best practices: CI/CD, IaC, and DataOps principles.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to model data and specify pipelines.
• Champion data governance and privacy-by-design across data assets.
