Proofpoint is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale data infrastructure on AWS. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders to turn raw data into reliable assets that power cybersecurity products and analytics.

You will lead data pipeline projects, enforce data quality and governance, and mentor junior engineers while driving best practices across the Data Platform team.

Formación

• 8+ years in software or data engineering with 4+ years on cloud data platforms.
• Deep expertise with AWS data services and data lake architectures.
• Strong Python and PySpark or Spark (Scala) skills and SQL proficiency.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Design and operate scalable data pipelines on AWS for petabyte-scale data.
• Build cloud data lake architecture on S3 with defined partitions and catalogs.
• Enforce data quality, governance, and SLA-driven alerting.
• Lead code reviews, CI/CD for data pipelines, and DataOps practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with data scientists and product teams.
• Document architecture decisions and ADRs; resolve production incidents.
