Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics infrastructure on AWS.

You will build CI/CD, AWS Glue, Athena, and S3 workflows, while enhancing observability and developer experience across data teams. You’ll own IaC, container orchestration, and data pipeline orchestration in MWAA/Airflow, with a strong emphasis on security and scalable design.

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with data engineering exposure.
• Deep AWS core services experience including S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS.
• Hands-on with Glue, Athena, and S3 data services in production environments.
• IaC proficiency with Terraform and/or AWS CDK for production cloud environments.
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
• Observability design: metrics, logs, tracing, alerts for data/platform services.
• Excellent communication to translate ops concerns into clear trade-offs.

Mansioni

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of data pipelines.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure via IaC covering S3, IAM, VPC, Glue, and Athena.
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, and alerts with SLA focus and incident response.
• Develop self-service DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates.
• Manage container/compute infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda) for data ingestion services.
• Operate workflow orchestration (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions) with scaling and reliability.
• Develop and maintain Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion.
• Enforce security practices: secrets management, least-privilege IAM, network segmentation.
