Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based enterprise data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will own data stack components, optimize warehouses, and oversee ingestion pipelines using Fivetran, HVR, and custom tools.

The role requires strong SQL, dbt, Python, data modeling, and observability expertise, plus the ability to collaborate with Cloud/DevOps and business stakeholders. Remote-friendly with Pacific Time coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering or data platform engineering experience.
• Hands-on Snowflake ownership, data-layer design, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL skills and dbt experience for transformation, testing, and lineage.
• Experience with managed ingestion tools like Fivetran or HVR and custom pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS data services usage, especially S3 and event/file ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
• Proficiency in Python or similar for automation and tooling.
• Strong data modeling, pipeline dependencies, and data quality understanding.
• Experience with observability, logging, alerting, and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage, incl. ops and escalations.
• Operate Snowflake environments, configure warehouses, monitor performance and costs.
• Manage data access with least-privilege controls and secure credentials.
• Handle ingestion pipelines across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines; coordinate schema changes.
• Design and maintain RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION dbt models with tests and CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and integration with Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps on Argo Workflows and Kubernetes workloads.
• Define and improve data quality, observability, and reporting standards.
• Lead major data incidents and perform root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders across teams.
