Job summary

AgileEngine in LatAm is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and enhance a Snowflake-based data platform within a regulated healthcare context. You will own data-layer design, production troubleshooting, and end-to-end pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran/HVR, and AWS data services.

You will lead incident responses, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security and stakeholder teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake experience including data-layer design and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL and dbt for transformation, testing, lineage, and controlled deployment.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom data-ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on with AWS data services, especially S3 and event/file-based ingestion.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
• Python or other data-engineering language for automation and tooling.
• Understanding of data modeling, pipeline dependencies, schema evolution, and data quality.
• Observability, logging, alerting, and incident-management for production data platforms.
• Ability to lead complex incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Strong decision-making, estimation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance, and business stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English; available for Pacific Time and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage, handling ops and L2/L3 escalations.
• Operate Snowflake production and non-production environments, including sizing, monitoring, and changes.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit-ready practices.
• Manage data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines with scheduling and schema-change coordination.
• Design and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with testing and CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake workflows, retention controls, and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate Argo Workflows/Kubernetes data workloads with Cloud/DevOps teams, including deployment and recovery.
• Define data quality and observability standards; implement freshness, row-count, and schema-drift checks.
• Expand end-to-end monitoring and lineage with tools like dbt, Splunk, and alerting stacks.
• Lead or support major data incidents, perform post-incident reviews and preventive actions.
• Participate in Tableau Cloud operations when upstream data or connectivity requires investigation.
• Drive standardization, automation, reliability, performance, and cost improvements.
• Operate via service-management workflows; create runbooks and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs across the distributed team.
• Join Data Platform on-call rotation for critical incidents outside staffed hours.
