Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will own data-warehouse design, workflow orchestration, and ingestion pipelines, while ensuring data quality and security.

Key focus areas include dbt transformations, AWS data services, Argo/Kubernetes orchestration, and mentoring engineers. Excellent English communication and on-call readiness are required for global collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional data engineering or data platform experience.
• Proven Snowflake design, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL skills and dbt for transformation, testing, and lineage.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom data ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS data services including S3 and event/file-based ingestion.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes for orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and tooling.
• Strong data modeling, pipeline dependencies, and data quality practices.
• Experience with observability, logging, alerts, and incident management.
• Ability to lead incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and drive improvements.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and client interaction skills.
• Availability to work 9:00 AM–6:00 PM PT and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage window and incident escalation.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments, including sizing and monitoring.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit readiness.
• Operate and improve ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines with reliability in mind.
• Design, build, and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with testing and CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo Workflows and Kubernetes workloads.
• Define and improve data quality and observability standards and runbooks.
• Lead or support major data incidents, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Assist Tableau Cloud operations where data connectivity and refresh issues arise.
• Drive standardization, automation, reliability, performance, and cost improvements.
• Follow service-management processes for incidents, requests, changes, and releases.
• Create and maintain runbooks, procedures, architecture context, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective cross-team handoffs.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents outside staffed hours.
