AgileEngine, LLC. is looking for a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems. You will work with Java and/or Kotlin, Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB Atlas, and Aurora MySQL on AWS as part of a product-led engineering team.

Take on key development work, contribute to architecture, and help improve observability and cost-savings. English proficiency and cloud experience are essential; flexible remote options and flextime are available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• MongoDB Atlas (NoSQL) proficiency.
• Aurora MySQL on AWS proficiency.
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
• Spring Boot framework experience.
• GraphQL (Netflix DGS) API development.
• Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems on a major cloud platform.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Take on lower-priority engineering tasks, including compliance and maintenance, cost-savings, observability, and tooling.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and design; validate with data and experiments.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to uphold standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including engineers, PMs, data scientists, and designers.
• Partner with a Product Manager and fellow engineers on requirements and mid-level design, focusing on coding, testing, and documentation.
