Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems for a Product-led engineering team. The role works with Java and/or Kotlin, Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB, and Aurora MySQL on AWS, handling operational tooling, architecture, and observability.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of backend experience, proficient in Java/Kotlin, MongoDB Atlas, Aurora MySQL on AWS, Spring Boot, and GraphQL with Netflix DGS, and strong English.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proficiency in MongoDB (Atlas) and Aurora MySQL on AWS.
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with Spring Boot framework.
• API development with GraphQL (Netflix DGS).
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance systems on a major cloud platform.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Take on lower-priority engineering work, including compliance and maintenance, cost-savings, observability, and tooling.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and validate solutions with data and experiments.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Work with a Product Manager and engineers to clarify requirements and focus on coding, testing, and documentation.
