Job summary

Darwoft, a Latin American software company, seeks a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to join its AI-native development approach. You will work on a modern transaction platform for M&A with AI-assisted tooling integrated into production workflows.

You will navigate large codebases, make architectural decisions, and drive reliability and velocity using Claude Code, Codex, and other AI agents. Remote-first, contractor-friendly environment with USD payments.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience building and operating production software systems.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals including architecture and maintainability.
• Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
• Strong backend or full-stack engineering with modern languages/frameworks.
• Experience in APIs, architecture, integrations, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Navigate, understand, and evolve a large existing production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural and system design decisions as the product scales.
• Identify technical debt, risks, reliability issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI coding agents extensively throughout the lifecycle.
• Leverage AI agents to explore codebases, generate/refactor code, write tests, and accelerate delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the application stack when needed.
• Strengthen automated testing, observability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across layers and balance speed with quality.
• Collaborate with product leadership to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Help a small team achieve greater leverage through AI-assisted engineering.
