Darwoft is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for an AI-native, LATAM-focused, remote role. You will work on a modern transaction platform for AI-powered M&A SaaS with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and other AI coding agents integrated into the workflow.

As a Senior/Staff engineer, you will own architecture, navigate a large codebase, and build backend/APIs while leveraging AI to accelerate delivery. This is a contractor role with payments in USD and a remote-first setup.

Qualifications

• Strong production software systems experience.
• Architecture, system design, debugging, testing, and maintainability.
• Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
• Backend or full-stack engineering with modern languages.
• Experience building web apps and SaaS products.
• APIs, data modeling, and distributed systems.
• Relational databases and production data environments.
• Automated testing and modern software practices.
• Cloud environments, CI/CD, deployments, and production operations.
• Ownership and ability to work independently.
• Product mindset: understand why to build as well as how.

Responsabilités

• Navigate, understand, and evolve a large production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities across the SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions as the product scales.
• Identify technical debt and reliability issues.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI agents throughout development.
• Leverage AI to explore codebases, generate/refactor code, write tests, and accelerate delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, integrations, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the application stack when needed.
• Strengthen automated testing, observability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Balance speed with long-term software quality.
• Translate business problems into technical solutions with product leadership.
• Help a small team achieve greater development leverage via AI-assisted engineering.
