Job summary

Darwoft is hiring a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for an AI-native, Claude Code/Codex-driven tech stack. This is a 100% remote, LATAM-friendly contractor role partnering on an AI-Native LegalTech / M&A SaaS platform.

You will own architecture decisions, work on large production systems, and leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery. You will lead design and implementation across the SaaS platform, tackle technical debt, and collaborate with product leadership to deliver scalable, reliable

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and operating production software systems.
• Strong fundamentals: architecture, system design, debugging, testing, maintainability.
• Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
• Backend or full-stack engineering using modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience building modern web applications and SaaS products.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, architecture, integrations, data modeling, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases and production data environments.
• Automation testing and modern development practices.
• Familiarity with cloud, CI/CD, deployments, and production ops.
• Ability to reason about trade-offs and make pragmatic architectural decisions.
• Strong ownership and ability to work independently.
• Product mindset: understand why a feature should be built.

Responsibilities

• Navigate, understand, and evolve a large production codebase.
• Design and implement new capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural and system design decisions as the product scales.
• Identify technical debt, architectural risks, reliability issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI coding agents extensively.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows.
• Strengthen automated testing, observability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, and infrastructure layers.
