Darwoft is offering a Senior/Staff Software Engineer role focused on AI-native development for a modern legaltech/M&A SaaS platform. You will work on a large, production codebase with architectural responsibilities and AI-assisted coding tools.

The position is 100% remote in LATAM and paid in USD, with a contractor engagement. The role emphasizes building production software, improving reliability, and driving velocity using AI agents like Claude Code and Codex, while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and operating production software systems.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, design, debugging, and maintainability.
• Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
• Backend or full-stack expertise with modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience building web apps and SaaS products.
• Solid API, integration, data modeling, and distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience with relational databases and production data environments.
• Proficiency in automated testing and modern software practices.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD, and production operations.
• Ability to reason about trade-offs and own architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and evolve a large production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities in a complex SaaS platform.
• Make architectural decisions as the product scales.
• Identify technical debt, risks, and reliability issues.
• Utilize AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, etc.) throughout development.
• Leverage AI to explore codebases, generate/refactor code, and speed delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the stack and strengthen testability and observability.
• Improve tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot cross-layer issues and balance speed with quality.
• Collaborate with product leadership to translate business problems into tech solutions.
• Help the team gain development leverage through AI-assisted engineering.
