Job summary

Darwoft is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for an AI-native approach to software development. This remote LATAM contractor role focuses on production systems and large codebases, leveraging Claude Code, Codex, and other AI agents to accelerate delivery.

You will own architecture, improve reliability, and collaborate with product leadership to translate business problems into technical solutions. This is a hands-on builder role, not a pure ML position.

Qualifications

Proven experience building and operating production software systems.
Strong fundamentals in architecture, design, debugging and testing.
Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
Backend or full-stack experience with modern languages and frameworks.
Experience building modern web apps and SaaS products.
Understanding APIs, data modeling, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Navigate, understand, and evolve a large production codebase.
Design and implement new product capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
Make pragmatic architectural decisions as the product scales.
Identify debt, risks, and reliability issues for improvement.
Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, and similar AI agents extensively.
Leverage AI to explore codebases, generate/refactor code, and test.
Build and evolve backend services, APIs, integrations, data models, and workflows.
Contribute across the stack and improve testing, observability, and production readiness.
