Darwoft is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to join our AI-native coding environment. You’ll navigate a large production codebase, design new product capabilities, and guide architectural decisions in a fully remote LATAM setup with AI tools at the core.

This role emphasizes ownership, pragmatic engineering, and collaboration with product leadership to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality. You’ll work with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot to boost velocity across a modern

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience building and operating production software systems.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals, including architecture, system design, debugging, testing, and maintainability.
• Experience working with large or complex existing codebases.
• Backend or full-stack engineering experience with modern languages/frameworks.
• Experience building modern web applications and SaaS products.
• APIs, architecture, integrations, data modeling, and distributed systems.
• Relational databases and production data environments.
• Automated testing and modern software development practices.
• Cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and production operations.
• Ability to reason through technical trade-offs and pragmatic architectural decisions.
• Ownership and ability to work independently in evolving product environments.
• Product mindset: understand not only how to build but why.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and evolve a large existing production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions as the product scales.
• Identify tech debt, architectural risks, reliability issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI coding agents throughout the lifecycle.
• Leverage AI agents to explore codebases, design implementations, generate/refactor code, and accelerate delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the application stack when needed.
• Strengthen automated testing, observability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across app, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Balance development speed with quality and long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate with product leadership to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Help a small team achieve greater development leverage through AI-assisted engineering.
